When trying to figure out whether to start writing on medium, dev.to or any external platform at all, I came across your article as well as many others pivoting towards dev.to. While somewhat devoted to the IndieWeb- self-hosting paradigm, I would still use platforms just to reach more readers and get some incoming links for SEO. Probably I will skip medium altogether.
